Darwin Professional Underwriters
Based on their commitment to outperform the market, Darwin required a superior technological and operational infrastructure. In 6 months time, Darwin and OneShield worked rapidly to design workflows, define business specifications, and deploy Dragon to support Darwin's business and strategic goals.
Rapid Deployment — Darwin continuously rolls out new insurance products that allow them to capitalize on specific market opportunities and serve the demands of multiple distribution channels.
Control and Flexibility — Control and flexibility provided by the Dragon Designer configuration toolset was a huge factor for Darwin. Within 6 months, Darwin was configuring 80% of their application independently with a small but very talented staff.
I've been working with insurance technology for the past 17 years. The total flexibility engineered into Dragon is exactly what we were looking for. In about one year's time, we designed multiple product-specific workflows and rolled out 15 new products while supporting the complexities of admitted and surplus paper. Additionally, we extended on-line, real-time services directly to our distribution partners. From a technology perspective, this platform supports all of Darwin’s products and processes with a deployment speed that gives us a competitive advantage.
- Bob Asensio
CIO, Darwin Professional Underwriters
OneShield's Dragon technology provided me the technical framework to build a nimble, flexible business — capable of supporting evolving distribution, product and operating demands. It put the tools in the hands of my CIO and empowered him to meet customer demands and to reshape the way professional liability business was transacted in real-time. The right technology is a competitive advantage that can help define business strategies. I had a very high level of confidence that One Shield’s Dragon technology provides me with the competitive advantage I was looking for.
